DRY NEEDLING
Targeting trigger points
Dry needling is the process of inserting a thin needle into a trigger point to relieve a contraction within a muscle. Although it is different from acupuncture in its approach and purpose, acupuncture needles are used for dry needling.
Dry needling is a manual, therapeutic technique aimed at healing a dysfunctional muscle tissue.
Using a thin needle, our team at Serene Chiropractic can target a myofascial trigger point. This will often trigger an involuntary twitch response, which will reduce tension in the muscle and will aid in restoring normal function of the tissue.
The Dry needling process works by interrupting the improper communication at the motor-end plates of your muscle. This allows the muscles and the brain to essentially “relearn” how to communicate. Once the proper communication is learned, your joint can return to proper motion, reducing pain.
Dry Needling in at Serene Chiropractic can help reduce or even eliminate musculoskeletal dysfunction and pain associated with, but not limited to:

- Plantar fasciitis
